Strawberry Banana Smoothie with Apple Juice

I love a good strawberry banana smoothie, but sometimes you just want to sweeten it with a certain flavor, and this case, that’s some tasty apple juice. So I decided to try my hand at making a tasty strawberry banana smoothie with apple juice! Now there are a lot of different varieties of apple juice out there, and when I want to make the best tasting smoothies, I like to make the juice myself with my handy dandy juicer.

The type of juice I like to use when I am making it fresh is the green granny smith apple juice. I find it gives smoothie recipes a refreshingly sweet and tangy flavor, and it’s also just really tasty to drink by itself too.

Now for those of you who can’t juice, or simply don’t wish to, I reccomend only buying a cloudy and pulpy organic apple juice for this smoothie. If you can see through the bottle, then it’s not the good stuff, and likely from concentrate, or close to it.

As far as the strawberries and bananas go, I always like to use organic whenever possible, and make sure your banana is frozen in chunks for a thicker more consistent smoothie. The strawberries can be either fresh or frozen. Fresh strawberries will give you a naturally sweeter smoothie, but frozen may be more available year round. So go with what you can find! Now for that recipe…
